Sound and Visual Collection
Collection of photographs compiled by Marvin Anderson, lawyer, community activist, and founding member of Rondo Days in St. Paul. The collection consists of personal snapshots belonging to Nathaniel Evans and Rose Davis, prominent members of the Rondo neighborhood, as well as individual and group portraits of people within the community taken by photographer Earl McGee. The Evans and Davis images span from approximately 1900 to the 1960s and document family activities and friends, as well as a dismantled photograph album belonging to the Tea Society. The McGee photographs date from the 1940s-1960s and document social clubs, youth sports, families, and other activities and events in the Rondo neighborhood.

The Tea Society were the intellectual elite of the Rondo community. They read and discussed literature and poetry, take car rides and have catered dinners and picnics, as well as other outings. Snapshots include photographs of Nathaniel Evans, Rose Davis, Josephine Hobbs, Marie and Thelma Battle, others identified only by given or surname, and many unidentified.
